Everything You Need to Bring Your School Group to StoryCon!

We are working hard to bring you ALL necessary information to bring a school group to StoryCon 2027. Because we are still finalizing the dates of StoryCon 2027 due to construction at the Salt Palace. Please note this change in school group discounts and reservations!

StoryCon school groups of 10 or more students will benefit from these discounted school group prices:

Tween $49, Teen $129, one free educator per ten students, and additional educators at $199.

*School group discounts for StoryCon 2027 will be EARLY BIRD PRICING, and will ONLY be available (WHILE TICKETS LAST) to schools who send in their pre-commitments between Feb 27 - Sept 1, 2026. SIGN UP EARLY!) Your spot is reserved when:

1. You have filled out this pre-commitment form including number of tickets needed for students and educators. (We understand that your number may change a little from initial commitment to final payment, but it should be close as we will be holding this number of seats for your students.)

AND

2. You have emailed a statement of commitment to contact@operationliteracy.org, copying your administrator and school or district financial secretary who will pay the deposit to confirm your commitment. (This is necessary to help us get around firewalls when we communicate with you to send your invoice.)

AND

3. Operation Literacy has received your $500 nonrefundable deposit. (Details on where to send payment are available on the pre-commitment form.) Payment in full is due by October 1, 2026.

*School Groups may still register after this September 1st if seats are available, but will pay the full conference price for their attendees. ($59 per tween, $199 per teen, $199 per educator)

*We urge you to secure School LAND Trust money by March 2026 using this template letter to administrators and community councils so apply for funds for StoryCon 2027.

*It's also a great idea to reach out to your district education foundations to ask that they begin or extend their partnership with Operation Literacy to help provide funding for your StoryCon trip.

*Operation Literacy remains dedicated to sending 20% of our students to StoryCon on scholarship, but please note that schools who have not received scholarships in the past receive first priority.

Finding Funding for StoryCon

This letter template can be edited and used to ask many different groups (LAND Trust Community Council, PTSA, District Foundation, School Administration, and other donors) to sponsor students to attend StoryCon.

Field Trip Logistics

These field trip templates will give you ideas and starting points to communicate with parents and students about StoryCon.

How to Report StoryCon Successes

The way StoryCon impacts your school is powerful.  If you would like to measure this impact, we invite you to use our Impact Data Kit

If you complete the steps including student pre and post surveys to measure this impact and then report that impact back to Operation Literacy by March 31, 2026, you will receive your choice of rewards: either a $20 Amazon gift card or a 50% discount on your ticket to the StoryCon 2027 Educator Book Banquet meal.

When my students return, I see that they've gained something much more important than a fun day: they have more self-confidence.
