Pitch Session
15 MIN · PITCH A FINISHED MANUSCRIPT

Pitch your completed manuscript live to an agent or editor of your choosing. Fifteen minutes, one-on-one, with a publishing professional who is actively acquiring. Before your session you'll submit your query letter and the first page of your manuscript — nothing more, unless your agent or editor asks for it.

  • Query letter and first page reviewed in advance

  • Direct response to your pitch, and next steps if there's interest

15 MIN · FEEDBACK ON UP TO 3,000 WORDS

Get an industry professional's read on your pages. Submit up to 3,000 words ahead of time, and your chosen agent or editor will come to the session having read them and ready to talk. First draft or fifteenth — outside eyes help at every stage.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

  • Up to 3,000 words read in advance by the agent or editor you select

  • A 15-minute conversation about what's working and what isn't

  • Any section qualifies — including a query letter, if the total stays under 3,000 words. First chapters are recommended.

  • If you're submitting from the middle of the book, include a short note of context so your reader isn't guessing

A straight conversation with an agent or editor about how publishing actually works. No manuscript, no submission, no pitch. Ask how to break in, how to find the right agent, what a good query looks like, what happens after an offer — whatever you need answered.

  • A 15-minute conversation with the agent or editor you select

  • No pre-submission required, though some may ask you to send questions ahead

  • Come with questions — the session is yours to direct

How do I choose my agent or editor?

You will receive an email with the opportunity to select your agent or editor as soon as our lineup is confirmed. Selection order will be done in the order of purchase, so you get first choice if you buy early. 

When do I submit my materials?

You'll receive submission instructions by email after purchase.

What if I miss the submission deadline?

Sessions can't be extended or rescheduled for late submissions and are non-refundable at that point.

Can I book more than one?

Yes. Many authors pair an Insider Chat with a Manuscript Consultation, or pitch to more than one agent. Pitch Sessions are discounted after the first: $79, then $59 each for up to two more.

Is a StoryCon ticket required?

Yes. You must be a ticketed StoryCon attendee to attend any Agent/Editor meeting.
