FAQs
What does the $19 buy?

Review of your submission and a written scorecard. It does not buy a meeting. Selected authors purchase their consultation separately for $149.

Can I apply with an unpublished manuscript or a story idea?

No. Your property must be published — traditionally or self-published. Concepts, pitches, and works in progress are not eligible.

Do I need a StoryCon ticket to apply?

Yes. A StoryCon registration or presenter badge is required to apply and to attend a consultation.

Who will I meet with?

Consultations are matched, not random. StoryCon works from participating companies' active wish lists — middle grade and family adventure, YA fantasy, romance, comedy, thriller, horror, book club fiction, animation, contained low-budget stories, holiday, true stories, and more — and matches selected properties to a professional seeking that category. You'll learn your match before your appointment.

What happens if I'm not selected?

You still receive your scorecard. The $19 application fee is not refunded, since the review is the service being purchased.

Does StoryCon take a cut if something sells?

No. StoryCon receives no ownership interest in your IP and takes no percentage of any option, sale, or eventual production.

Producers, production companies, or studio representatives will be announced soon!
