- Travel info:
- Fly into Palm Springs, LA or Ontario Airports. (LA and Ontario
airports offer more flexibility and lower cost.)
- Drive from LA- about 2-2.5 hours
- Drive from Ontario CA about one hour.
- Drive from Las Vegas about 4.75 hours.
- Flights connect to Palm Springs through LA, Denver, Chicago, Denver,
Houston, Atlanta.
Main Meeting plenary lectures: Lectures run from early, 7:30 or
7:00 AM until 1:00 PM, then from 7:30-9:30 or 10 PM in the evening.on
Thursday and Friday.
Optional Additional fee workshops: These run from 2-4 PM, 2-6 PM
and 4-6 PM.
- Introduction to the Art and Science of Story one Day Pre-conferenceWorkshop:
- starting at 8:00 AM on Sept 25
- This morning through evening workshop will be taught by a number of
people who are teachers of
- longer workshops, usually two or three day weekend workshops.
Consider it an introduction to their
- ideas and ways of thinking, and also a sampler which will help
you to decide who you want to
- study further with-- taking 2 hour workshops during the StoryCon
meeting, or their full workshop, later.

Teachers: We want to encourage the teaching of
story concepts in the early years.
If you are a teacher from k-12, you can register for the meeting at 20%
off the regular registration fee for the plenary sessions.
If you are a university instructor, you can take 10% off the plenary
session registration fees.
Conference/Workshop organizers: If you run
another regularly organized Writer's, screenwriting or film-making
workshop or course , we will be happy to offer you a discount of up to 50%
or whatever you are willing to reciprocate for you workshop / conference
for two of our staff or two people we delegate to receive it. We offer
this to up to two people from the same workshop/ course.
You will have to pay regular fees for workshops.
Students: Proof of full time status
required. Half off plenary session and workshop fees. Or, work as a
volunteer and attend the plenary free. One reference endorsing you
as a responsible, hard working team player is required. The work isn't
hard, but we don't want slackers, who can hurt the spirit and energy of
the meeting by not being a team player or enthusiastically helping out..
- Cancellation Policy
- 100% refund before March 15, 2003 and at
any time on optional workshops.
Cancellation fees for meetings and the Foundations course
will apply after March 15, 2002
Cancellation fees: $25 before 5/15, $50 before 6/30/2003, $100
before 7/30/2003, $200 before 8/30/2003, no refunds after 9/15/2003 (a
$200 deduction will be applied and then the balance can be credited
towards registration for the next year’s meeting and or the
purchase of tapes from the current meeting. To get any refund or
credit due to canceling attendance for emergency reasons such as a
death or severe illness in the family, registrants must put in writing
a request for credit/refund within two weeks of the first day of the
meeting. Each case will be evaluated individually to determine whether
a partial refund or credit will be allowed. In all cases, the decision
making process may take up to 180 days and once the decision is
reached, if a refund is determined as the outcome, it can take
up to 12 months from the starting day of the missed meeting to be
sent. Futurehealth is not bound to refund any monies for people who
miss the meeting. It is our intent to be fair in offering credit and
refund options, but we reserve the final right in making the decision.

- Receipts: We do not send
confirmation of your registration. Your cancelled check, credit
card or Paypal confirmation can be used for proof of registration. We
maintain the meeting info on this website, which we recommend you
check periodically for updates.
Full time students rate: half price for meeting or attend free on our
work study program, helping man desks and taping lectures and
workshops.
We don't want to turn people away for financial reasons.
Rates and work study arrangements for students and people with
financial difficulties available. Reviewed on a case
by case basis and tax statement may be required.
